Boone NC Christmas Tree Farms

It's a rich American tradition as old and atmopsheric as a Currier & Ives lithograph from the 1800s.

There’s no more memorable Holiday experience for the entire family than choosing your own Christmas tree from a Boone area tree farm.

Best of all, you don’t have to live in The White House to have a perfect Christmas tree.

Fraser fir trees from the High Country region have been selected for The White House eleven times, three times in the last five years.
Fraser fir is the nation’s most prized Christmas tree, sought for its beauty, long-lasting needle retention, and aroma. It’s native only to the High Country of northwestern North Carolina and adjacent summits.

High Country tree farmers are proud to ship their perfectly proportioned trees all over the world—but the Choose & Cut tradition of old is still alive and well in the Boone area.

You're invited onto growers’ farms to choose among the freshest trees from tiny to towering. You'll also find beautiful wreaths, roping, and boughs. Some farms offer Christmas-themed crafts and gifts, hot cocoa or cider, cookies, hayrides, farm animals to pet, antique machinery to admire, and spectacular views. Explore our Boone & Blowing Rock Area Christmas Tree Farm Brochure.

Taking home a tree is just the beginning. Gifts from Boone area stores and specialty shops are as distinctively local as our trees. There's no better way to prepare for gift giving than to shop for fine art or hand-crafted items in the Boone Area. For skiers, a pre-Christmas trip to the South's biggest cluster of ski resorts is the perfect way to warm up for the season and have the slopes to yourself.
Holiday events, and atmospheric lodging, are magical in the early winter beauty of the Boone area.
