The Watauga County Parks and Recreation Department strives to provide a wide variety of quality recreational programming opportunities in the areas of arts, youth and adult athletics, special programs, special events, special populations including Special Olympics, aquatics, and summer youth camps.
The public can enjoy the following facilities which are located throughout Watauga County: a gym, a community clubhouse, 26 multi-purpose athletic fields, 3 parks, tennis courts, basketball courts, 8 picnic shelters, and the new Watauga Community Recreation Center in Boone. You'll find an indoor walking track, recreation and lap pools, state of the art equipment, basketball and pickleball courts, and more at this new facility.
